The Plymouth Meeting location of Plaza Azteca is located on Plymouth Rd just a few minutes off the PA turnpike (I-276) and near Plymouth Meeting Mall. Having a dedicated lunch menu was a huge reason we stopped in for lunch (all Mexican eateries should have a lunch menu as opposed to only an all day/dinner menu). While Plaza Azteca is a chain, we had a great experience at one of their other locations in PA and the reviews seemed solid. The interiors are very well done with a great design and modern fixtures to create a nice cantina vibe, and seemed to have great upkeep/maintenance for a restaurant that has been around for a while. The meal started off with complimentary chips and salsa (always a pleasant way to start off a meal). While the salsa could have used more of a kick, the chips were tasty. We went with 2 of the lunch specials (chicken enchilada and quesadillas) and a vegetarian enchilada trio. We found all the food to be fresh and flavorful, and served in just the right portions to fill us up for lunch. I'd rate the food a solid 4 to 4.5 out of 5, and well above average for a chain with multiple locations. While our waitress didn't seem to have a great command of the English language, she was friendly and attentive enough, and most importantly, got our orders correct. The only hiccup was that we were overcharged by $4 for a beer that was listed as $6 on the menu, but it was quickly fixed without an issue when we pointed it out. Overall, Plaza Azteca was a great lunch experience, so wouldn't hesitate to return next time we're in the Plymouth Meeting area and in the mood for Mexican food.
Love this place. I ordered a few things. Birria tacos, plantains, guacamole, & a chicken burrito forget what it was called but it was amazing. Everything was fresh & flavorful. The waitstaff were very warm & welcoming. There were 2 birthdays there that night & it's a very exciting moment. They turn on lights & music & come over & sing. I'm into that! Clean decor & bathrooms are nice. Spacious parking lot & this location is a larger size. Plenty of room. I will definitely be back to this location.
Oh how I love me some Plaza Azteca. I moved away from this location but love to stop by when I'm in the area. The place was decked out with holiday cheer and decorations which I appreciate! The prices are fair and they will customize any item you like. For me I got a tortilla less burrito San Jose with no rice. My friend got the fajitas and asked for their spiciest salsa which was habanero based. Meals came out sizzling hot exactly as ordered. Tasted like perfection. We also enjoyed the free chips and salsa along with a side of their mystrey white salsa! I can't identify the ingredients but I look forward to it every time. I'd love to go back with a group of 8 to sit at their special group table! Thank you again for another great meal!
Love the atmosphere and the food is really good, but watch out the freshly made guacamole is definitely pricey! Overall great place.
The Cheesesteak Burrito is soooooooo delicious!!!! The steak was so tender and so yummy. It was such a great atmosphere and the customer service was excellent. Definitely a fun place to come with your family. Close to the mall and truly in a great location.

Had a nice time with some friends at Plaza Azteca last weekend! We were seated immediately and placed our drink order shortly thereafter. The decor is ok, kinda dark in there but not an issue. I tried the Ultimate and some other margarita- both were tasty, not really strong but ok. We ordered the nachos and table side guac- Super tasty! I love all things avocado!:) I had the baja fish tacos with the beans and rice side. Once you add the sauces to the tacos and some guac- they are pretty good! If you leave them as they come, they are pretty bland. Add a lil razzle dazzle to them and I will def order them again. The waitress was cool not the friendliest but ok. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend to others.

Delicious table side guac, best spicy margarita, good food all around, the food comes out quickly and its is hot and delicious. Our server was a nice man in his 30's. He was busy because it was a Friday and the restaurant was on a wait but never seemed rushed and made plenty of conversation and checked that we had everything frequently. The atmosphere is bright cheerful and bustling, I would totally recommend this place. I read a lot of reviews and most of the one stars complain about takeout and I could see how the food wouldn't travel well with the sauces ect. But it was a fantastic dine in experience
